My family
Hi! Thank you for visiting my page!
I am SUPER excited to be teaching 2nd grade this year. This is my third year teaching second grade but I have been a 5th grade teacher here at Big Hollow and I have also taught third and fourth grades in the past. This is my 15th year of teaching!
Here is a little about me. I live in Grayslake with my husband and our twin seven year old boys, Matthew and Nicholas. I love doing anything that involves being outside in nature. In good weather, my boys and I can be seen riding our bikes all over town or in the Rollins Savannah. We have collected quite a few frogs, snakes, dragon flies, cicadas and other interesting insects this past summer. We have also become quite the bird watchers, observing the humming bird, woodpecker, cardinals and chickadees that visit our yard each morning. We even have a couple of squirrels that are regular visitors. Of course, we feed them very well. We spend a lot of time at the pool and at the beach stand up paddle boarding and kayaking.
I also love running, reading, organizing (weird, I know) and planning fun weekends and vacations. I love spending time with friends and family. I am so blessed to have wonderful people in my life.
Loves: coffee, tea, water, any fruit, pizza, peanut butter and chocolate ice cream, dogs, vacations, the beach, the Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Chicago Blackhawks (I was Chris Chelios’ biggest fan in the early 90’s), WGN radio, HGTV, the Hallmark channel, and Food Network.
I want every student in my class to feel excited to come to school each day. I strive to create a classroom community where each student feels loved and important, safe to express themselves and to make mistakes, and respected. I take my responsibilities very seriously and I want my students to look back on their second grade year with the same fondness and warmth as I do when I think of second grade in Mrs. Rosemeyer’s class.
Please know how excited I am to be working with you and your child this year. I look forward to meeting each one of you soon!
